The most effective leaders are not the ones who work the hardest or know the most. They are the ones who know themselves, and who lead from that place of clarity, presence, and purpose.
The work is trauma-informed. That means we go beneath the surface behaviours and presenting challenges to the deeper patterns that are driving them. It is not therapy. It is rigorous, practical, and grounded in real commercial experience, and it goes further than most leadership coaching as a result.
Conscious leadership is a practice, not a personality type. It starts with the recognition that how we lead is inseparable from who we are, and that the inner patterns we carry (our fears, our blind spots, our unexamined assumptions) shape our leadership far more than any framework or strategy.
At its core, conscious leadership is about moving from a reactive, ego-driven mode of operating to one that is grounded, intentional, and genuinely in service of the people and purpose you lead. It draws on traditions from psychology, mindfulness, and organisational development, but it is fundamentally practical.
In the renewable energy sector, where the stakes are high, the pace is relentless, and the talent is exceptional, conscious leadership is not a luxury. It is a competitive advantage.
Understanding the patterns, beliefs, and emotional responses that shape your leadership, before they shape your decisions for you.
Moving from a reactive, approval-seeking mode of leadership to one grounded in genuine presence, curiosity, and inner authority.
Aligning your actions with your values, not just as an ethical imperative, but as the most effective long-term leadership strategy available.
Seeing yourself as part of a larger system, your team, your organisation, your industry, and leading in ways that serve the whole.
Most of the leaders I work with are not struggling in the conventional sense.
They are competent, driven, and respected. They have built something real. By every external measure they are succeeding.
But somewhere beneath the performance there is a question that will not go away.
The Questions That Brought You Here
Why do the same patterns keep showing up in my team dynamics, my relationships, my decisions under pressure?
Why does something that should feel like enough still feel like it is missing something?
What would it mean to lead, and live, from a deeper place?
How do I find balance in my work and protect myself from burning out?
Those questions are not weaknesses. They are the beginning of the most important work a leader can do.
That is where this work begins.
Michael works with a select number of leaders at any one time, ensuring each engagement receives the depth and attention it deserves.
Leaders in renewable energy, infrastructure, and adjacent sectors navigating complexity, scaling their organisations, or leading through significant change. Often high performers who have built something impressive and are beginning to sense that the next level of growth, in their leadership and in themselves, requires a different kind of work.
Founders building companies in the clean energy space grappling with the transition from technical expert to organisational leader. The skills that built the company are rarely the same skills needed to scale it, and the personal cost of that gap can be significant.
Not every person I work with has a leadership title. Some are professionals questioning whether the path they are on is still the right one. Some are carrying a pattern or a block that they know is holding them back. These conversations require both strategic clarity and deep personal honesty, and they are some of the most meaningful work I do.
I came to conscious leadership coaching through eight years of working in personal transformation and immersive facilitation, sitting with leaders, entrepreneurs, therapists, and coaches in some of the most honest conversations I have ever been part of.
Before that I spent eight years in the energy sector, starting in oil and gas recruitment and building high-performing teams, before being appointed Country Manager for Germany for renewable energy recruitment. From there I co-founded and sold Rebalance Germany, a specialist renewable energy recruitment business, before travelling the world.
That combination, real commercial experience and genuine inner work, is what I bring to every coaching relationship.
I do not work with a lot of people at once. The work is personal, confidential, and done properly, or not at all.
